nView medical CEO attends Utah trade mission to Singapore led by Governor G. Herbert
August 31st 2017 - Singapore.
nView medical CEO, Cristian Atria, was recently in Singapore attending a Utah trade mission led by Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert. The Utah mission focused in building relationships between Utah and Singapore, including building business partnerships, investments, sharing best practices and of course spurring import/export & trade. The delegation was composed of key business people, entrepreneurs, politicians and administrators.
nView medical was invited to participate as part of a Utah Science Technology and Research
Initiative (USTAR) to explore foreign funding for Utah technology start-ups. “Singapore is a very well run country, with an amazing private sector and a very well run public sector that directs technology research to spur innovation”, Atria said.
As part of the trade mission, Atria visited potential partners, regional distributors, research centers and universities such as A*Star and Nanyang Technological University. “I was impressed by how globally connected the whole country is and how research is used to fulfill strategic goals for Singapore”, Atria added. The keystone of the mission for nView medical and other Utah startup companies was a pitching event organized by USTAR.
“Our novel intraoperative imaging technology was very well received by investors and potential strategic partners; for us the trade mission created key relationships that we intend to leverage in the near future. I would like to thank USTAR, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), the Small Business Administration (SBA) and Utah’s World Trade Center for the opportunity to participate, as well as the multiple local agencies and organizations for receiving us.” Atria concluded.
